The EMA did not find a link between menstrual disorders and anti-COVID-19 preparations
The European Medicines Agency (EMA) has said it has not yet found a link between vaccines against COVID-19 and menstrual disorders and has recommended adding three more diseases as possible side effects of Johnson & Johnson, Reuters reported.
The regulator recommended that thrombocytopenia (decreased platelet count), dizziness, tinnitus (tinnitus) be added to the side effects of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine.
Reported cases of menstrual disorders have been investigated by the agency’s safety committee.
The European Medicines Agency has requested additional data from vaccine developers to better assess the issue.
The benefits of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine outweigh the risks, the European Medicines Agency said. The agency came to this conclusion after analyzing 1183 cases of dizziness and 100 – of tinnitus.
