Suffering from mild autism, he took part in the event for adapted sports athletes (category T20).
The race
The Bourbonnais thus held its place, since it had the sixth reference time among the fourteen engaged. Started quickly, he positioned himself in the leading group during the first laps, before having a dip in the middle of the race and back off. Oscillating between seventh and eighth position at the start of the last lap, Gaël was then able to count on his bon finish to come up and snatch sixth place. It ends in 4’01”17 (his French record is 3’58 ”21), a stone’s throw from the winner, the Russian Aleksandr Rabotnitskii (3’54” 36).
