The award-winning French film director Nicolas Philibert’s film tells about a unique mental health care center-ship on the Seine River in the center of Paris, which opens its doors every day for art therapy, psychological consultations, mutual conversations and entertainment.
Adamant is a wooden floating building on the banks of the Seine river that welcomes adults, offering mental care and simply a chance to have a good time. It is a creative art studio and cultural center where giant wooden blinds open every morning to let in daylight.
The staff at Adamant try to work with visitors as ordinary people with their daily concerns and stories as much as possible, offering counseling and art therapy with music, painting, handicrafts, literature and film screenings. There is a cafe in Adamant and a film festival is held every year, the program of which is chosen by the patients.
The film invites you to get to know the patients and caregivers who maintain and create the special atmosphere of Adamant every day. It is a compassionate, witty and intelligent documentary about the people around us.
