“By the decision of the members of the Supervisory Board, the current president, Adam Suliga, was dismissed from his position. His duties will be performed by Maciej Borecki, the current member of the factory management board,” the head of the marketing and communication department at the plant in Radom, Aleksandra Clothing, told PAP.

The factory’s official statement was also posted on the website. It underlined that “the resolution of the Supervisory Board does not state the reasons for dismissing the president”.

Publications in the media

Recently, Fabryka Broni “Łucznik” in Radom has been widely reported in the media, mainly due to the publications that appeared on the Onet.pl portal.

Last week, the website published a text entitled “Fabryka Broni in Radom: PiS and family on their own”. Onet.pl journalists wrote that after PiS’s victory in the elections in the supervisory board, management board and other positions in Fabryka Broni “Łucznik”, many people associated with PiS were employed.

As noted in the article, “a person previously employed in the office of Deputy Minister of Defense Wojciech Skurkiewicz made a lightning-fast career in the factory,” and “the company’s supervisory board was taken over by people who joined it shortly after the appointment of Antoni Macierewicz as Minister of National Defense”.

“As many as four councilors of the city of Radom on behalf of PiS work in various positions in the factory. The president of the factory, Adam Suliga, came to this position without any experience in the armaments industry. In his previous work, he used mobbing against a subordinate. In Łucznik, workers are harassed. A drastic example of a victim of such behavior. there is an employee who returned to work after a long break caused by laryngeal cancer “- reads the Onet.pl publication.

Fabryka Broni assessed this article as “another element of the campaign against the Polish arms industry, conducted by a portal belonging to a German-Swiss concern”. “The authors of the publication decided to hit the company’s employees this time – apparently hoping to successfully intimidate the staff of Fabryka Broni. The company declares that employees who fall victim to lies and media manipulation can count on its support, including legal support” – he says statement of the board of “Łucznik”.

The management of “Łucznik” also assessed that the author of the publication used the information “very selectively, using only those that justified the thesis of the political text that had been adopted in advance”.

Carabiners problems

In January, Onet.pl wrote about the technical flaws of the Grot rifle produced in the Radom factory that it is “so bad that it threatens the soldiers”. He also alleged that the testing and acceptance procedures were violated when the weapon was released. Referring to tests carried out by a former special forces officer, Onet.pl described gas regulators falling out, overheating with continuous fire, susceptibility to jamming after sand formation and corrosion, a brittle stock, a cracking magazine and its seat. Neither Fabryka Broni nor the Ministry of National Defense agreed with these allegations. “Łucznik” brought lawsuits to the court regarding the protection of personal rights in the Radom plant.

At the end of February, the Grot carabiner was handled by the Parliamentary National Defense Committee. During the committee meeting, representatives of the defense ministries and state assets to which the Grot producer is subject, as well as the commander of the Territorial Defense Forces, which were the first to receive this carbine, assured that the Grot carbine was safe for the user; there has not been a single accident caused by this weapon. The president of Fabryka Broni emphasized that defects are removed on a regular basis, and the company regularly discusses subsequent changes in the structure with the military.
