Cezary Kulesza confirmed on Twitter the sensational information about Paulo Sousa. The Portuguese coach said that he would like to terminate the contract by mutual agreement. Although Kulesza explicitly admitted that he did not agree to such a solution, we can already expect that we will soon see a communication regarding the parting with the coach.
Sousa has most likely reached an agreement with the Brazilian Flamengo club Rio de Janeiro. He did not take his work in Poland seriously and everything indicates that he will part with our representation less than three months before the play-off match with Russia for participation in the 2022 World Cup.
Adam Nawałka seems to be one of the main candidates to replace Sousa. The 64-year-old coach, who recently worked for Lech Poznań, told the journalist of “Prawda Futbol”, Roman Kołton, that he would like to take over the command of our team once again.
– Roman, you know me, I would never refuse the representation – the former Polish coach who led the team to the quarter-finals of Euro 2016 told Roman Kołtoni.
Nawałka led our staff in 2013-2018. He left after the unsuccessful World Cup in Russia. The new manager of our team will be selected by the president of the Polish Football Association, Cezary Kulesza.
