Adam Mišík is an emo spider

The main heroine of the film is the spider girl Lili Websterová (Ivana Korolová). Together with an older brother (Adam Mišík), a caring mother (Ivana Chýlková), an understanding father (Jaromír Dulava) and smart grandparents (Jiří Lábus), he lives in a cocoon above the elevator shaft.

Lili is brave, so sometimes she gets into trouble. Like the time she was responsible for watching the flies and they all flew away, or when she got scammed by a scammer on the Internet.

“While cleaning our house, I kept coming across cobwebs and started to imagine what it’s like to be a spider,” director Kerekešová described the beginnings. “Spiders have four legs and four eyes. When we started modeling and animating them, I realized how screwed we were. We lasted quite a few years with them.”

“We are trying to make the story deal with current topics, we have the darkness of refugees, the topic of internet security. The target group is six to eight years old, but certainly also younger and here and there older, the dispersion of topics is such that it will find younger and older viewers… at the beginning we always have a funny topic and gradually we have two lines, one is the one that will bring a message, the other one is humorous.”

Older brother

“Hugo is a brother who takes care of the younger sister, helps her out of trouble, or gets into it himself. It’s similar to how it goes in every family. He’s a bit of a rocker, an emo rocker, an emo spider,” Adam Mišík introduced his character.

“I’ve been dubbing since I was a kid, I even relax with it, and it’s good that you use your voice in a different way. It’s fine for acting. I’m glad that I can also do for the youngest. It’s made with love, that world of spiders – it feels like home,” he added.

“Adam makes a mess and I’m a badboy, a guy who pretends to be someone else on the Internet, seduces to do bad things,” responded his colleague Daniel Krejčík.

“It was a pleasure for me, the Czech dubbing was directed by Zdeněk Štěpán, who directs, for example, The Simpsons. He plays things in such a way that no matter how well you play it, you’re not going to do it as well as he does.”

The Websters in the film will hit theaters on October 13.
