Adam Blanche and Oscar Sävinger will take over from the Möller brothers in Sävehof

Last season Sävehof won SM gold and the brothers Sím and Felix Möller were two of the biggest stars in the team. Now both are away for international matches and other players have to step out of the shadow of the national team players.

Adam Blanche, 23, and Oscar Sävinger, 22, have gone from second choices in their careers to first ones.

– Of course the rest of us will have more responsibility, but we are very new in these positions, me and Oscar especially on the pitch but also Linus (Ekman) as a coach. We are still finding our positions and how we want to work as a team this year, so we are not under too much pressure and we trust the process, says Adam Blanche.

He has been waiting to take the step forward and be number one in his middle class position.

– It is extremely fun and extremely useful I have felt ready and felt that it was a step I wanted to take in my handball career. So far I think it has gone well. It’s big shoes to fill but I’m doing my best, I’m having fun and I feel like I’m growing every week that goes by.

He feels no pressure: “Just thought it was fun”

Oscar Sävinger was one of the main winners in the derby win over Önnered on Saturday. In recent seasons he has been the number two goalkeeper behind Simon Möller, now he is number one between the posts.

– I am aware that it will go up and down and not be straight up all the time. I am very grateful and proud to be here in Sävehof and that you are making the investment that you are making, that I got two years with Simon before and now with Arvid (Norén , the second goalkeeper), is great fun. I am proud and happy.

Is there any pressure in taking over from a national team goalkeeper?

– We are a bit used to this, that players come up and then they keep. Almost my education here has been like that, there are players from below who are very quick to fill the gaps. I work for me and it’s usually fun just to play. He takes over this nervous thing, I just thought it was funny.

Sävehof won the derby against Önnered with 32–27 and is now second in the handball league.
