TRIBUNNEWS.COM, JAKARTA – Three children in DKI Jakarta died after being suspected of having acute hepatitis in just the last two weeks until 30 April 2022.
The three had undergone intensive treatment at the RSCM after receiving referrals from hospitals in East Jakarta and West Jakarta.
The symptoms found in these three children were nausea, vomiting, severe diarrhea, fever, jaundice, seizures, and decreased consciousness.
Since the exact cause of this disease is not known, Ministry of Health decided to increase his vigilance.
Moreover, the world health agency (WHO) has also declared an extraordinary event (KLB) in cases of acute hepatitis that attacks children in Europe, America and Asia whose cause has not been known since April 15, 2022.
The Ministry of Health is currently investigating the cause of the case acute hepatitis This is through a complete virus panel examination.
The DKI Jakarta Health Office is also said to be conducting an epidemiological investigation regarding this matter.
“During the investigation period, we urge the public to be careful and remain calm,” said the spokesman Ministry of Health Siti Nadia Tarmizi, in her press statement, Monday (2/5/2022).
He also asked the public to take preventive measures by implementing health protocols, such as diligently washing hands, not taking turns using eating utensils, and avoiding contact with sick people.
