Griffith University Epidemiologist Dicky Budiman also explained that Hendra virus this.
Citing Tribunnews.com, it is stated that the Hendra virus is actually an endemic disease originating from a type of bat that eats fruit.
“And in Australia in particular, it’s a finding that dates back to the 1990s.”
“Why can humans be exposed to this Hendra, because fruit bats often infect horses,” he told Tribunnews, Tuesday (17/5/2022).
These bats contaminate the food consumed by horses, so they can infect horses and are deadly.
According to Dicky, 80 percent of infected horses usually die.
