TRIBUNNEWS.COM, JAKARTA – Case hepatitis Severe acute illness has now become the concern of the World Health Organization (WHO) and other world bodies, now it turns out that it has now reached Singapore.
The patient is a 10 month old infant, whose results of examination of hepatitis types A, B, C and E are all negative.
This patient had experienced Covid-19 last December although so far there has been no clear scientific evidence between acute hepatitis and corona virus infection. Meanwhile, the United States CDC also reported yesterday that out of 9 cases in Alabama, all were positive for adenovirus, 2 children had to have a liver transplant. Symptoms include vomiting, diarrhea and also an upper respiratory tract infection.
Regarding this, the former Director of Infectious Diseases of WHO Southeast Asia, Prof Tjandra Yoga Aditama asking for increased vigilance in Indonesia.
“Starting with the initial alertness of health services including hospitals, at least an explanation to health workers and various basic therapies,” said Prof. Tjandra to the Tribune, Sunday (1/5/2022).
In addition, outreach to the community must continue to be carried out so that knowledge about hepatitis become bright and can be used as early detection to prevent fatal effects.
