Media boss Acun Ilıcalı started working to buy teams from England. While it was claimed that Ilıcalı wanted Hull City, it was stated that he largely agreed with the owner of the team, Egyptian businessman Assem Allam. It was reported that Ilıcalı will pay 30 million pounds for Hull City.
Ilıcalı said, “I want to wave the flag of our country in England with the success of Hull City. I hope that Hull City will consist of Turkish people, from their coaches to certain players in the future. My goal is to create a team that makes a sound in the world.”
Hull City are competing in the English Championship. It was reported that if the team is promoted to the Premier League, an additional payment of around £ 20 million will be made.
