“Actually, sorry to the serenazgos”: Man who launched racist qualifiers to Magdalena’s serene says he is sorry

Arón José Cotrina Gómez, the man who verbally assaulted two watchmen from Magdalena del Mar who asked him to wear a mask on the street, replied this Saturday by the racist adjectives he launched against municipal workers.

“Do not bother me, they are equaled mountain people,” Cotrina Gómez is heard saying in the recording made by one of the watchmen who asked him to put on the mask when he walked his pet on the Miguel Grau boardwalk. However, The man considered that the members of the citizen security should not feel offended, as he had no intention of insulting them.

“Actually, sorry to the serenazgos. I understand that they are doing their job, they give them orders, I understand, but I did not want to disrespect them and I don’t think they should be offended because we are all cholos. I am Serrano and we all have indigenous and Spanish blood in our bodies we are Peruvians and we should be proud of that ”, he told RPP News.

As he explained, the recording shown by Magdalena’s watchmen does not show everything that happened and He said that he had permission from the Police to walk his dog without using the mask, despite the fact that this implement is mandatory. He also maintained that it was the municipal workers who initiated the confrontation.

“The problem was that they got upset and tried to take their anger out on me. I understand that I was not wearing the mask and that I had to put it on, but I can convulse (…) I regret having said that to him and that that just came out in the video part, because The actions were not like that, I think the serenazgo got angry and they were very aggressive with meThe police came, they threw me to the ground, they attacked me and everyone in the park saw, ”he said.

Cotrina Gómez also said that she had suffered cyberbullying since the incident was disclosed and that, although he was wrong to insult the watchmen, people should not have exposed their data on social media. “Right now I start to think like people went over a bit to do that and I also went over to insult him, but it happened as normal.”

After the incident on the Miguel Grau boardwalk, the Magdalena police station was intervened, where he left hours later with a fine of 344 soles. Meanwhile, the municipality of that district indicated that they would take the corresponding legal actions against him.
