The talent agency UTA canceled its contract with American actress Susan Sarandon, who won an Oscar, a few days ago, after cooperation that extended since 2014, during which she took over the management of its business, due to her support for the people of Gaza, in the war they are subjected to by the Israeli occupation, according to “Newsweek” magazine. .

Suzanne has supported the Palestinian cause for a long time, and participated in several demonstrations and protests inside America, declaring her complete rejection of the genocide of the people of Gaza. Members of the Palestinian Women’s Gathering had previously participated in the #March4Palestine protest in Washington, early this November, in Washington. She said: “You do not have to be Palestinian to care about what is happening in Gaza. I stand with Palestine. No one is free until everyone is free.”

As previously mentioned, Susan Sarandon, who was appointed a Goodwill Ambassador for UNICEF in 1999, participated in a solidarity demonstration for the people of Gaza, on November 18, in New York, and demanded the need to stop the war, as she stated at the time to the press media, and said: “There are many “People are getting a taste of what it is like to be a Muslim in this time, in this country.”

In addition, Sarandon shares her views in support of the Palestinian cause with her fans through her account on the X platform, where she recently shared a report indicating the extent of the international decline in support for the Israeli occupation, more than 40 days after the war.

It also re-published a video clip of Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim sending a message to US President Joe Biden, saying: “You are asking us to condemn Russia in Ukraine, but remain silent about the atrocities committed by Israel in killing women and children in Gaza.”

In another context, Mexican actress Melissa Barrera was also harmed because of her stance in support of Palestine, and her description of what is happening in Gaza as a “war of extermination,” as she was recently excluded from starring in the movie “Scream 7,” according to the American “Variety” magazine.

Melissa had written on her official Instagram account, “We come together as artists and supporters, but more importantly as human beings we are witnessing the devastating loss of life and the horrors unfolding in Palestine and Israel,” as she urged her fans to demand a ceasefire there, “There must be a ceasefire.” To end the bombing of Gaza, ensure the safe release of all hostages, and demand that humanitarian aid reaches the people who need it most.”

The company that produced the film, the American Spyglass Media Group, believes that “anyone who supports Palestine is anti-Semitic and incites hatred,” and issued an official statement after Melissa was excluded.

A company spokesperson said: “Our position is unequivocally clear: We have no tolerance for anti-Semitism or incitement to hatred in any form, including false references to genocide, ethnic cleansing, Holocaust distortion, or anything that blatantly suggests that Hate speech.”
