She has been working with Babiš for some time as part of her charity organization, so she alerted him when her friends were stuck in Israel. “They are not my blood relatives. It is a family of four that has been living in Israel for several years. They have two children and I take Inna as my sister. It is my heart family. Their mother lives in Prague and when I saw how she collapsed, I didn’t know who to turn to. So I asked Andrej and he navigated me to the embassy in Tel Aviv. We went like machines for four days,” she described.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs managed to get only a small handful of people out of Israel. “We didn’t know if more planes would be dispatched and how many there would be. We knew we had to make it by Friday because Hamas said something crazy was going to happen. I was scared and I knew that their lives were at stake. None of us can imagine the massacre that takes place there.” said the actress.
However, she does not consider herself a heroine. According to Yvette, everyone would try to help. “It’s normal humanity. Get people out of the hell of war. It’s not heroic. It still makes me nauseous and I breathe deeply. When I found out that they got on the plane, I was so happy… Unfortunately, the others were not so lucky. Their neighbors lost their children, mothers and friends. Such a form of brutality and it came as a blow from heaven. We tried to help,” said Blanarovic with tears in her eyes.
