One of the main figures of Mexican cinema of the 1970s, actress Sasha Montenegro, died during the night of February 14, victim of a stroke. She was 78 years old.
According to the first reports, the stroke that cost the actress her life was a consequence of the lung cancer she had been fighting for some time.
Her death was confirmed by her family to specialized journalists, such as Carlo Uriel, who minutes before had denied the rumors of the actress’s death, which began to appear during the afternoon.

Originally from Bari, Italy, where she was born on January 20, 1946, Aleksandra Acimovic was the daughter of a couple who migrated from the then Yugoslavia to the Italian Peninsula. It is said that she belonged to a noble Montenegrin lineage, so they had to leave the country that embraced communism at that time.
Her family would migrate once again to Argentina, where the young woman studied journalism. A trip that the future actress would take to Mexico in 1969 would change her life forever, since it allowed her to begin her career in film.
