At the age of 87, French actress Mylene Demongeot, who became famous as Milady from the Three Musketeers or in the Fantomas film series, died on Thursday 1 December 2022. A native of Nice, whose real name is Marie-Helene Demongeot, she started acting in films at the age of 17. When she was 20, she gained attention for herself with the role of Abigail in The Witches of Salem, where her partners were Simone Signoret and Yves Montand. The stellar decade of the actress, who has been compared to Brigitte Bardot for her blonde hair and smiling face, was in the 1960s, when she starred in both The Three Musketeers and Fantomas.
In the following years, the woman, who also dealt with the protection of animals and the environment, starred in the films The War of the Cops (2004), Love for Rent (2006) and Beatrice’s Kiss (2017).
The actress, whose mother was from Ukraine, was married for the second time to director Mark Simenon, the son of the famous mystery writer Georges Simenon. She was widowed in 1999.
