A native of Nice, whose real name is Marie-Helene Demongeot, she started acting in films at the age of 17. When she was 20, she gained attention for herself with the role of Abigail in The Witches of Salem, where her partners were Simone Signoret and Yves Montand. The star decade of the actress, who was compared to Brigitte Bardot for her blond hair and smiling face, was the 1960s, when she starred in both the films The Three Musketeers and Fantomas.
