Actress Mayar El-Beblawi said that she called on director Enas El Deghaidy in the campus because of her scenes in Disco, explaining: “I didn’t want to do all these scenes in the movie Disco, nor did I want to wear a swimsuit.”
Al-Beblawi added in her interview with the journalist Basma Wahba, presenter of the “Al-Arafa” program: “I did not want the scene of Amr Abdel Jalil or the scene of Sharif Mounir, and all of these things caused me problems, and thank God I was veiled, so I do not want anything like this to be exposed.”
The actress continued: “I don’t want anyone to answer this scene’s biography. This scene is not correct and not suitable for Ramadan. I was 19 years old and I was happy that I was working in acting and working opposite Naglaa Fathi and Salah Zulfikar, even though I could not even dream of seeing them.”
The artist continued: “I was filming at the disco for two weeks. My sister and I were the only ones fasting among the young artists, and we filmed all day at the disco. There was no point in fasting because all the scenes involved drinking, and on the day of the controversial scene, she entered the toilet and locked me, and Enas El Deghaidy got angry because There was no point in making them sit for two hours until breakfast to do my scene, and I was crying because I didn’t have breakfast and wasting time.”
She continued: “Someone had to convince me to break my fast, and here came Naglaa Fathi’s turn. She was a wonderful person, and if she had told me to throw yourself in the fire, you would be old, and she came and said to me, ‘Come on, my love,’ so you can do the scene, and she convinced me that we should not eat during Ramadan so that we would remain like the poor and break the fast.” Don’t hide the matter, it will pass.”
