Russian Actress Tragically Lost at Sea in Thailand
Koh Samui, Thailand – A serene beach day turned into tragedy on Koh Samui, as 24-year-old Russian actress Kamilla Belyatskaya was swept away by a powerful wave while vacationing. The heartbreaking incident occurred near the Lad Koh viewing point on Friday afternoon, sending shockwaves through the popular Thai destination.
CCTV footage released by local police paints a haunting picture of the fateful event. Belyatskaya can be seen peacefully sitting on her yoga mat on a rocky outcrop, unaware of the danger lurking beneath the waves. Moments later, a towering wave crashes onto the rocks, engulfing the unsuspecting actress and dragging her into the churning sea.
"During monsoon season, we constantly warn tourists, especially at high-risk areas like Chaweng and Lamai beaches, where red flags indicate no swimming," Chaiyaporn Subprasert, head of the Samui Rescue Center, told local media.
While the area itself isn’t designated for swimming, the force of the unexpected wave likely caught Belyatskaya off guard. Rescue efforts were launched immediately, but rough sea conditions, with waves cresting at nearly 10 feet, hampered the search.

Tragically, Belyatskaya’s body was only recovered the following evening, washed ashore less than a mile from the point where she was swept away, near the Impiana Resort. News of the actress’s untimely death has sent condolences pouring in from fans and colleagues worldwide.
This incident serves as a stark reminder of the powerful forces of nature and the importance of heeding warnings from local authorities.
