“Actress Jenna Ortega joins ‘Beetlejuice 2’ cast, set for release in 2024”

The sequel to “Beetlejuice” will hit theaters summer of next year and actress Jenna Ortega will join the film.

“Beetlejuice 2” will star Ortega as the daughter of Lydia Deetz, played by Winona Ryder, as reported by E! News. In addition to Ryder, who reprises her gothic role, Michael Keaton will once again play Beetlejuice.

The film will be released on September 6, 2024.

Although no details of the film have been revealed, it will be a follow-up to director Tim Burton’s 1988 classic, which also starred Alec Baldwin, Geena Davis, Jeffrey Jones and Catherine O’Hara.

The original film followed the recently deceased couple Adam Maitland (Baldwin) and Barbara Maitland (Davis) who hire Beetlejuice to haunt their home in an attempt to scare off the new tenants: Charles Deetz (Jones), Delia Deetz (O’Hara) and her daughter Lydia.
