How is today’s wedding different from when she got married? Elita reveals that she got married in 1992, and everything that happened that day is still a beautiful memory. The wedding was big.
“Latvia was a new country at that time. I remember how we were preparing for the wedding. There was a change of power, in Māmuli – the Latvian Society’s house – there were still army stars on the walls, the ones that had to be removed. In the house where the celebration was held, there were men with weapons. Remembering all this, there is a feeling that it was in another life,” says the now 56-year-old JRT star.
“Everything is very different today – now everything can be ordered from companies that organize weddings, but it wasn’t like that back then. I remember very well how we took a giant cake to Old Riga with a bus, it was held by my cousin,” says Kļaviņa. Also missing is the special photo session, which is almost or mandatory these days.
