The actress made the statement six years after she publicly revealed that she was homosexual. In 2018, she married dancer Emma Portner.
On Tuesday, December 1, Page said on Twitter that there is a transgender who is now called Eliot. The actress now prefers to be addressed in the male gender or in the neutral “they”.
“I feel happy writing this. Being at this stage in my life,” writes Page. “I ask for patience. My joy is real, but also fragile. The truth is that even though I feel really happy right now and know how privileged I am, I’m also scared.” The actress admits that she is afraid of hatred and ridicule.
Born in Canada, Page gained world fame by playing the role of an expectant teenager in the film “Juno”. For this role, she was nominated for an Oscar by the US Academy of Sciences and several other prestigious film awards.
One of the most recent projects the actress has been involved in is the series “The Umbrella Academy” produced by Netflix.
