I will not make an agreement with this person in any way. I think that the subject is too painful for the stage in which our country is and this is my categorical decision, the case is postponed. This is what the actress Diana Dimitrova said after the proposal of the Sofia District Court to conclude an agreement, the “Focus” Agency reported.
The case was scheduled for February 22 at 2:30 p.m.
The actor Julian Vergov filed a lawsuit for insult against the actress, but Vergov was not present at the case itself. Instead, the actor was represented by Adv. Lelcheva.
Dimitrova herself stated that her presence today is a sign of empathy for all women in similar situations in Bulgaria: “I appeared today because I am not appearing only on my own behalf. Today I am also a representative of all Bulgarian women who made my mistake – to be silent. For those who did not speak when they should have.”
“I have to point out that maybe it is not clear to a lot of people, but this case is not related to violence against me, it is related to a Facebook status that I personally wrote on my profile after reading the statement of Julian Vergov. The part with the bullying of his daughter was the moment when my health deteriorated and I had to seek medical help,” the actress shared.
When asked why the actress did not take legal action against Vergov, Dimitrova answered as follows: “I want to challenge him, if he feels innocent, to file a case for criminal assault, not a case for insult because of a Facebook status. I refused. I am looking for the rights because on March 28, eight colleagues from the series “Stolen Life” gathered incredible courage and spoke. For me, the battle was won then, because it became clear to the whole of Bulgaria that they were trying to cover up the crime and the violence that was done to me . I decided there was no point in upsetting my mother any more and so I took no action.”
