entertainment">Born in Rotterdam Corrie van Gorp was introduced to show business at a very young age. Her father Piet van Gorp was part of the accordion trio that was popular at the time The Three Jacksons. From the end of the fifties she danced with the Amsterdam Ballet, the National Ballet and the Dance Group Helen Le Clerq, among others.
entertainment">Her breakthrough came in the early seventies when she worked with Willem Nijholt performed in theater shows from Wim Sonneveld. After a starring role in the musical A cannibal like you from Freek de Jonge in Bram Vermeulen she first appeared in the revue of in 1974 André van Duin. Next Frans van Dusschoten she was a well-known face in the popular revue company for many years.
entertainment">In 1978 Van Gorp made her first LP, with lyrics from Tol Hansse and music from Clous of Mechelen. Many more records and CDs would follow, usually sung full of carnival-like thigh splatters. Corrie van Gorp scored hits with Jodelahiti Jodelahita, Soesafoon me, Be as slim as your daughter in Alie van de Wegenwacht.

entertainment">In the revues Corrie van Gorp, together with Van Duin and Van Dusschoten, indulged herself with dozens of hilarious characters such as Mrs. De Bok and with texts that were often full of ambiguities. People were queuing up in front of the theaters. The shows, which could also be seen on television, scored unprecedentedly high viewing figures.
entertainment">She also appeared in several cinema films, including I am Joep Meloen in The Bosom Friend. In both films she could be seen with André van Duin and Fans van Dusschoten. Van Gorp and Van Duin made a television comeback in the weekly in 2009 Dik Voormekaar Show, after which she quietly withdrew from public life.
Tribute
entertainment">Her last public appearances date from 2009. After that she withdrew from public life. Comedian came in 2018 Richard Groenendijk on the idea of giving the then 75-year-old comedian a real goodbye. “Everyone knows that Mrs. De Bok costume: the hat, her ‘tassie’, the fund glasses, the health steps … I asked: ‘Cor, did you store it somewhere safe and well? Because this costume has a very special value. ‘ Not in money, but in prestige. ‘Oh yes, Richard. It is stored safely and dry, down in my box. ‘ I didn’t know what I was hearing and was stunned. Then I got the idea to do something special with it. My mother first cleaned the costume, because the treasure had put it in a bag that she once brought fish with from the fishmonger ”, Groenendijk said at the time.

entertainment">In the Oude Luxor Theater she was then by André van Duin and the Rotterdam mayor Ahmed Aboutaleb put in the limelight. There, in the foyer on the first floor, hangs a display case with the original clothing of Mrs. de Bok as a permanent tribute to Corrie. Corrie’s characters also played a major role for Aboutaleb. “As a little boy I sat on the couch with my parents and took the remote control hostage. I absolutely wanted to watch Corrie and André’s broadcasts. I confess today, but it is really the source of the Dutch I speak now. Partly because of these two special people I learned it. ”
entertainment">For the past few years, Corrie had been living with peers in a residential group and suffered from what she herself called ‘all small defects’. “For that reason I should actually move a little more to keep the discomfort to my body as small as possible. Furthermore, I no longer smoke and I drink little. We don’t leave the drink completely, but we do everything in moderation. ”
