The American actress Anne Heche died this Friday after being disconnected from the life support devices that kept her alive, the newspaper reported. The Guardian.
The news was confirmed by her family, who had previously announced the decision not to continue Heche’s medical treatment due to her critical condition and the serious brain injury that kept her in a coma as a result of a car accident on August 5.
One of her representatives confirmed yesterday the extremely critical condition in which the artist was found and assured that there was no hope that she would survive. This morning, her loved ones had announced that they did not expect her to get better and that they were keeping her on life support to determine if her organs could be donated.
Heche was hospitalized after the car she was traveling in crashed into a house in the Mar Vista neighborhood of Los Angeles, California. According to police, the vehicle involved in the accident — a blue Mini Cooper — was speeding down a residential street and possibly hit a curb before hitting the front yard and the building, starting a fire.
The 53-year-old actress rose to fame in the late 1980s for her role in the series ‘Another World’. She established herself in Hollywood thanks to her roles in films such as ‘Donnie Brasco’ (1997), ‘Volcano’ (1997) and ‘Return to Paradise’ (1998).
