Jolie’s visit was unannounced to the general public. Yesterday, images surfaced on social media of the Hollywood actress and UN special envoy at a local cafe. But Jolie mainly came to talk to the victims of the war and the volunteers who assist them.
She visited a shelter for children who were injured in a rocket attack on a station in Kramatorsk. A school was also on the program where the actress heard stories from students, posed with them for photos and promised to return to the young people.
Jolie was once again confronted with reality when she herself had to take shelter from an air raid siren. Someone concerned asks her if she is afraid. “No, I’m not afraid, I’m okay,” Jolie replies as she storms down the stairs.
