While the chairperson and executive chairman are vacant, actor Song Kang-ho has decided to host the Busan International Film Festival, which opens next month.
The opening film was ‘I Hate Korea’ directed by Jang Geon-jae.
Reporter Choi Jae-hoon reports on the characteristics of this year’s Busan International Film Festival.

Actor Song Kang-ho announces the opening of the 28th Busan International Film Festival, which opens on the 4th of next month.
Since the chairman and executive chairman positions were vacant, actor Song Kang-ho decided to host the festival.
The opening film was ‘Because I Hate Korea’ directed by Jang Geon-jae.

This year, 209 films from 69 countries have been officially invited, 80 of which are world premiere films that will be shown for the first time at the Busan International Film Festival.
You can also meet new works by masters from around the world, such as Alexander Payne’s ‘Barton Academy’ in the US and ‘The Host’ by Kore-eda Hirokazu in Japan.
This year, in particular, the Korean Diaspora, a Korean-American special exhibition, and the Indonesian Cinema Renaissance special exhibition will also be held.
The Asian Film Award is given to actor Chow Yun-fat, the big brother of Hong Kong cinema.
The Asian content film market, which has renewed the previous participation scale every year, is expected to set a new record this year as well.

As the closing film of the 2006 Busan International Film Festival, ‘Crazy Stone’ was selected as ‘The Emperor of Movies’ by Chinese director Ning Hao, who was cheered by Busan fans.
