Rudy Morren, best known as an actor, has met Snow trail wrote the best Flemish crime novel of the past year. He received the Knack Hercule Poirot prize for it.

Morren made his debut last year with Wild meat. This year followed Snow trail, published by Horizon, a book in which the life of gynecologist Peter Vandervlught is completely turned upside down. His wife and daughter are victims of a crime, and he makes a mistake himself during a routine surgery.
“Morren confirms the great expectations after his debut: this is an author who dares to write and keeps you captivated to the last page,” said the jury. He receives a check for 5,000 euros and a Mont Blancpen.
The public award goes to Boiled out by Pat Craenbroek, the Fred Braeckman award for best debut is for Conscience by Marc Cloostermans.
