Ehe famous film and television actor, who participated in films such as “The Punisher” and “Thor”, lost his life at the age of 58.
The unfortunate news was released by his publicist and later confirmed by the magazine “Variety”, and although the causes of death are unknown, it is known that Ray Stevenson was in Italy, filming his most recent project.
Stevenso is originally from Ireland and began his career on television during the 90s, but it was not until years later that he made the leap to Hollywood, becoming one of the most beloved actors among the public.
His first major role on the big screen was in the movie “King Arthur,” where he played Dagonet, one of the Knights of the Round Table.
Much of the success he had was thanks to the Marvel universe, and that is that he collaborated with the studios on different projects, starring in the film “The Punisher: War Zone”; he was also part of the “Thor” franchise where he played the Asgardian hero Volstagg, one of the thunder god’s allies.
Other of the successes on the big screen in which Stevenson participated were in the films: “Divergent”, “The Book of Secrets”, “GI Joe: Counterattack” and “The Three Musketeers”. His last film appearance was in “RRR”, which was nominated for an Oscar in the category of best foreign film.
On television he was also part of important projects such as the series “Roma”, “Dexter”, “The Walking Dead”, “Black Sails” by Starz and joined “Vikings”, in its sixth season.
Stevenson Ray died leaving several unreleased projects, including the Disney series “Ahsoka”, which belongs to the “Star Wars” saga; as well as the films “1242: Gateway to The West” and “Cassino in Ischia”.
