French actor Pierre Vernier has died at the age of 93.

Actor Pierre Vernier is dead, reported the French newspaper Le Figaro and the British newspaper Mirror, among others.
The 93-year-old French actress died on Wednesday, October 9. The family announced Vernier’s death on Saturday.
Vernier had a long career in films, theater and television. An acting career that began in the early 1950s continued until 2017, when he was seen in a comedy film Marie-Francine.

Along with numerous famous French stars, Vernier belonged to a group of comedy actors Conservatory banda conservatory gang informally founded in the early 1950s by graduates of the French National Theater Academy (Conservatoire national supérieur d’art dramatique). With Vernier’s death, there is only one 91-year-old actress left from the group Françoise Fabian.

Vernier worked among other things Jean-Paul Belmondon and Annie Girardot’n alongside big stars like Vernier and Belmondo appeared together in films, among other things The professional (1981) and Journey of a spoiled child (1988).
In addition, Vernier is remembered, among other things, from the movie Farewell de Gaulle, farewell (2008), in which he played the title role, General Charles de Gaulle.

Both Le Figaro and the Mirror write that Vernier was not necessarily familiar to everyone by name, but his face was. A huge number of role performances could fit into almost 70 years.
