The news was confirmed today by his wife Holly Wolfle Hall. Philip Baker Hall was born in Toledo, Ohio, on September 10, 1931. He began working for the theater and then for film and television. Over the course of his career he has played over 200 parts.
Philip Baker Hall starred in Cigarettes & Coffee, Boogie Nights e Magnoliaby Paul Thomas Anderson, where he played a terminally ill children’s quiz host whose daughter Claudia hates him because she believes he molested her as a child.
It was then Richard Nixon in a play for Robert Altman, who also directed it in the film adaptation Secret Honor. He starred in The Truman Show, Psycho di Gus Van Sant, in Mr. Ripley’s talent by Anthony Minghella and in Dogville di Lars von Trier.
