Actor Louis Gossett Jr. Passes Away at 87: Remembering a True Gentleman

At the age of 87, the actor, who was always known as a real gentleman, passed away. This news devastated hundreds of admirers of his works.

What is a “guardian angel” and why does everyone have one? Can we pray or talk to him? How and why does he help us?

Priests call a guardian angel a divine being who mediates between us, ordinary people, and the Heavenly Father. It is customary to address the angel in prayer.

Many believers became convinced of the presence of Guardian Angels in times of danger, miraculously avoiding trouble or serious injury. Then they remembered the incredible feeling of invisible protection and help.

But why should we pray to our guardian angels when they are always with us? Don’t they know what we want and need?

Orthodox Christians know that a guardian angel can be assigned to a person only after touching the Sacrament of Baptism. Some people, on the contrary, believe that each of us has a guardian angel, regardless of our religion. In any case, many of us feel the support of invisible guardians.

Foreign actor Louis Gossett Jr. has passed away at the age of 87.

The actor, who became the first black man to win an Oscar for his supporting role in ‘An Officer and a Gentleman’, passed away on Friday morning (03.29.24).

His family said in a statement: “It is with deepest regret that we announce the passing of our beloved father this morning.”

“We would like to thank everyone for their condolences at this time. We ask that the family’s privacy be respected during this difficult time.”

Gossett began acting in school plays and made his Broadway debut in The Big Step when he was just 16 years old.
