This sponsorship attracted attention because Lee’s husband, Jung Ho-young (70), ran a defense company called Raycom Korea in the past. On a controversy over inappropriate sponsorship from stakeholders, Lee Young-ae said in a phone call with Yonhap News, “The sponsorship has nothing to do with her husband’s defense industry. In addition, Chairman Chung said that he does not operate a defense industry company, and it has already been 10 years since he lost his hand from management, and that his stake is about 0%.
The lawmakers responded that they did not know whether Chung was engaged in the defense industry, and it was a donation that was not related to Chung.
