Polish actor Piotr Wysocki died at the age of 87. He died in a fire in the house he lived in. Fans may remember him, for example, from the legendary TV series Four from a Tank and a Dog as Lieutenant Kozub.
Firefighters went to a fire at a family house in the village of Trzciniec on Sunday around eight o’clock in the morning. Eight units were sent to the scene and a total of 30 firefighters battled the flames. They found an 87-year-old man dead in the house.
According to the information of the portal Polsat News Piotr Wysocki lived in the house for several years. “The film and theater actor Piotr Wysocki probably died in the fire. He was known, among other things, from the series Four from a Tank and a Dog, Career of Nikodem Dyzma or Chopin. He was associated with the Juliusz Osterwa Theater in Lublin,” they reported on social networks volunteer firefighters from the village of Osina.
The death of the actor was then confirmed on facebook his son. “Piotr Wysocki died today. Lublin actor on stage and screen, the soul of society. My dad,” wrote Jan Niewada-Wysocki.
Investigators are now working on the scene to determine the cause and circumstances of the tragic event. It is not yet clear why the fire started.
Wysocki was born on April 13, 1936 in Toruń, Poland. He studied, for example, at the Higher Theater School in Warsaw or the Ludwik Solský State Theater School in Krakow.
