With the desire to make poetry, which is so great for music, as important and necessary as it once was, director Māra Ķimele meets with her actors in the LR3 program “Šņorbērniņi”, with whom she read poetry (also in the New Riga Theater performance “Poetry”) , talk to them and listen to them. “It is painful to read poetry, because you seem to be hurting your wounds – you intuitively want to protect yourself from this openness (..), but it is still one of the riches of life,” Māra Ķimele says in the program to which the actor Kaspars Znotins has invited.
“Poetry is one of the few ways to say the unspeakable in words,” Kaspars Znotins notes.
He reads poetry by Rainis, Ojārs Vācietis, Eriks Ādamsons, Māris Čakls, translated by Pauls Cēlans, Knuts Skujenieks, Marta Pujāts, Artis Ostups and Montas Kromas.
