Actor Jonathan Majors Faces New Abuse Allegations as Sentencing Approaches
In a shocking turn of events, actor Jonathan Majors is facing new abuse allegations from two more women. The accusations come as the 34-year-old actor awaits sentencing for assaulting and harassing another former partner. The details of these allegations were revealed in a recent report by The New York Times, where two ex-girlfriends of Majors spoke out against his alleged behavior.
Emma Duncan, who was engaged to Majors between 2015 and 2019, claims that she experienced physical and emotional abuse during their relationship. She recounts an incident where she discovered messages between Majors and another woman while visiting him on the set of the film Hostiles. In response to her finding, Majors allegedly became violent, pushing her onto a couch and choking her. He then proceeded to throw her across the room, threatening her life and saying, “I’m going to make sure you can’t have children.” Duncan also alleges that Majors physically assaulted her on multiple occasions, including slamming her against a mailbox and throwing her to the ground.
Maura Hooper, another former girlfriend of Majors, also shared her testimony of emotional abuse. She claims that Majors was controlling and prevented her from seeking support from others. Additionally, Hooper reveals that she had an abortion after becoming pregnant early on in their relationship. When she confronted Majors about alleged infidelity, he threatened to kill himself, a behavior that Duncan also attests to. After their breakup, Majors allegedly hurled derogatory insults at Hooper, calling her a whore and expressing his desire for her death.
Jonathan Majors’ lawyer, Priya Chaudhry, has denied all accusations of physical abuse but acknowledges that the relationships were “toxic.” Chaudhry claims that her client takes responsibility for his role in these relationships and regrets the hurtful things he said.
These new abuse allegations are not the first time Majors has faced controversy. While working on the HBO drama Lovecraft Country, he was accused of improper behavior by his co-workers. They claimed that Majors exhibited threatening behavior, made derogatory racial remarks, and was difficult to work with. Following complaints from three women, Majors was forced to apologize, although he referred to the incidents as a misunderstanding.
In December 2023, Majors was found guilty of two misdemeanor charges of assault and harassment against a former girlfriend. Despite the conviction, his lawyer expressed confidence in the legal process and stated that Majors looks forward to clearing his name. However, Marvel Studios decided to sever ties with the actor on the same day, resulting in his departure from his role as Kang in their projects.
In a televised interview in January, Majors vehemently denied ever physically harming a woman and expressed his intention to appeal the conviction. However, this week, his sentencing was postponed after his lawyer filed a motion for a delay. The new sentencing date is set for April.
The allegations against Jonathan Majors have sent shockwaves through the entertainment industry. As the actor awaits his sentencing, the public is left grappling with the disturbing details of these abuse allegations. It remains to be seen how this will impact Majors’ career and personal life moving forward.
