CITY OF MEXICO (proceso.com.mx).- The actor Jeremy Renner, who plays the character Hawkeye in the saga of The Avengers, revealed that he fractured more than 30 bones in the accident with a snowplow.
“I want to thank EVERYONE for your messages and consideration. Much love and appreciation to all of you. These more than 30 broken bones will be mended, strengthened, as love and bonds with family and friends deepen,” the actor wrote in a message posted on his social media.
The message is accompanied by a photograph where Renner himself appears to be receiving physical rehabilitation.
The actor left the hospital Monday after receiving treatment for serious injuries sustained when he was struck by the 7-ton Pistenbully snowplow as he tried to use it to free a family member’s vehicle on a private road near Lake Tahoe in Nevada, New Year’s Day.
The accident left him in critical condition with chest trauma and other injuries, according to a representative for Renner.
Authorities continue to investigate the event, but there is no indication that Renner was intoxicated or that any crime was committed.
The 52-year-old actor, a two-time Oscar nominee, plays Hawkeye, a member of the Avengers superhero squad in the Marvel Cinematic and TV universe, and has a recurring role in the Mission Impossible franchise.
