Mumbai: Veteran actor Javed Khan Amrohi passed away. Movies like Lagaan, Chakde India and the Doordarshan serial Nukkad made Javed Khan more famous. He was being treated for respiratory disease.
Javed, who was having difficulty breathing, was bedridden for almost a year. Filmmaker Ramesh Talwar told news agency PTI that he died at a nursing home in Mumbai around 1 pm. He was an active member of the Indian People’s Theater Association (IPTA).
After graduating from FTII, Pune, Javed worked in plays and appeared in 150 films in small but pivotal roles. Also participated in a dozen TV shows.
