Hollywood actor Jared Leto could have imagined stealing comic books as a child. “We didn’t really have the money for it – I know comics were pretty cheap – but we didn’t have any extra money to buy things like that,” said the 50-year-old in an interview with dpa. “I suppose I would have stolen them if there was a good comic book store nearby. But there wasn’t.”
(sda) His enthusiasm for comic books was limited. “I wasn’t that into comics. A family friend gave me a box of comics that my brother and I devoured,” said the American actor. “But that was short-lived and didn’t really stick.” Rather, as a child he was very interested in Greek mythology.
As an adult, Leto is now catching up with the comics. In the new Marvel Universe film, the 50-year-old plays the eponymous “Morbius” – a doctor suffering from a rare blood disorder who turns into a vampire-like anti-hero on his way to a supposed cure.
