Big changes affected the life of actor Jānis Āmanis this summer – he not only said goodbye to the Latvian National Theater, but also announced his divorce from his wife. In an interview with Andri Buli, the actor revealed the backstage of the relationship and indulged in a real conversation between husbands.
The actor admits that in his relationship with his ex-wife, he often had to impress and justify something to himself, until it led to injustice against himself. “I have worked a lot – is this what I want to see, is this really what I see? The more experience you have, the better you distinguish,” he said.
To be honest, I haven’t been all the way through a lot of things.
The actor’s ex-wife has always said that she does not feel jealous of Jānis Āmanis’ colleagues, but he has always sensed the opposite: “Sometimes I felt derogatory remarks.”
Also, Āmanis laughs that there is a colleague in the middle of the theater who always wants to portray the kiss as real as possible, but he never wanted to hurt his ex-wife. “It’s a profession, and actually, to some extent, asexuality occurs there – it’s your colleague and that’s it!”
