Skopeček played rather smaller, but significant roles in the film. His only big role was in the series from the 1960s, Three Guys in a Cottage. Lubomír Lipský, only two years older, made his film father in it.

He also played, for example, in the fairy tale There are no jokes with Devils, in Mareček, give me a pen or in the film Kameňák.

Skopeček is also the author of several plays and radio dramatizations. He was a founding member of the Prague Theater under Palmovka.

Skopeček was imprisoned in a concentration camp during World War II because of his partly Jewish origin. In 2017, he received the Medal of Merit. His wife was actress Věra Tichánková, they were together for 66 years.
