Dutch actor Hero Muller has passed away at the age of 83. His family confirmed this to the Groningen broadcaster RTV Noord on Thursday.

Muller played in various films and television productions, but also lent his voice to the Cookie Monster from sesame street and the fairytale tree of the Efteling. Muller studied at the conservatory in The Hague.
He started his acting career with the musical My fair lady in 1961. During the 1960s he focused on radio plays, especially for the former Dutch public broadcaster Avro. He then made his television debut in the series Floris by Paul Verhoeven. Muller also directed the latter in films such as Keetje Tippel, Soldier of Orange in The fourth man.
In addition to films, Muller also played television productions in Dutch films, such as The sun in the house, On the way to tomorrow, Zoop in The house of Anubis.
He continued to act into old age. In recent years he was still seen in Cops Maastricht in Doctor Deen.
His son, Peter Paul Muller, also acts.
