Actor Héctor Bidonde passed away – Argentine Association of Actors and Actresses

With great sadness, we say goodbye to the actor, theater director and teacher Héctor “Cacho” Bidonde. His extensive career includes memorable works in theater, television and film. He was a member of our union since 1965. Our condolences to his family and friends, accompanying them in this difficult time.

He was born on March 2, 1937 in La Plata. His death occurred on January 19, 2024. While working as a turner, he auditioned for the play “Amarretes” by Carlos Cabral and there began his outstanding career as an actor. Then, he studied at the Provincial Conservatory of Dramatic Art and in 1964, he debuted in the Comedia de la Provincia de Buenos Aires. He perfected his acting skills with Agustín Alezzo and Augusto Fernandes.

His intense theatrical work includes titles such as “Hamlet”, “A Report on the Banality of Love”, “Three Sisters”, “Medea”, “Spaghetti”, “An Inspector Has Arrived”, “The Lightning”, “Dracula”, “The Great Misfortune”, “Corruption in the Palace of Justice”, “Olive Green”, “The Little Organ”, among others. As director, he was in charge of staging “Don Chicho”, “The Inspector” and “Strange Toy”.

In cinema, he stood out in more than 30 films, including “Puan”, “Yo nena, yo princess”, “Alma mia”, “The night of the pencils”, “The island”, “There will be no more sorrows or forgetting », «The power of censorship», «Shot in the air», «Contragolpe», «Another love story».

His television work includes programs such as “Gasoleros”, “Culpables”, “Los simuladores”, “La Banda del Golden Rocket”, “Commitment”, “Nosotros y los fears”, “Men in conflict”, “Risk zone”, among others.

He worked as an acting teacher in his studio on Maipú Street and at Paternal Teatro, among other spaces. In addition, he was a legislator of the City of Buenos Aires for the Self-Determination and Freedom party, then he became a member of the Southern Bloc and was a candidate for head of government of the City and national senator for the Socialist Workers Movement – New Left.
