After almost 12 years at the Latvian National Theater, actor Ģirts Liuziniks chose to leave the stage and the profession of an actor, engaging in a completely different job, Evija Kalnbērza’s material “From an Actor to a Builder” was published in the “Private Life” edition.
Liuziniks has joined the ranks of students this autumn – he is studying at the Faculty of Civil Engineering of Riga Technical University – and he goes to lectures every day.
According to Ģirts, he wanted to learn another profession that would be useful in life.
Asked why he left the theater, he says: “Shortly before the pandemic made the decision to leave the theater because I was tired. I wanted to relax, I didn’t want to take on new productions anymore. I was mentally and physically exhausted,” says Girts.
He adds that in order to be fair, he has been freelance and unemployed.
