Actor from “Hawaii Five-0” In the original and in the reboot

The crime series “Hawaii Five-0”, which was shot in 2020, has now been an absolute guarantee of ratings on Sat.1 for over ten years. 2010 marked the start of the US series – 30 years after the original series ended.

In the seventies it ran on ARD under the German title “Hawaii Fünf-Null”. It is interesting that the characters in the old and new series have the same name and origin. The actors of the main characters, however, have all been replaced.

Daniel Dae Kim was the first actor to be cast for his role in the reboot. The series star, who was born in South Korea, took over the character “Chin Ho Kelly”.

In the original “Chin” was embodied by the Hawaiian Kam Fong Chun. The actor and former police officer died of lung cancer in his native Honolulu in 2002 at the age of 84.

“Steve McGarrett” was last played by the Australian Alex O’Loughlin. In the original, Jack Lord played the team’s “Commander” in all twelve seasons.

The well-known actor, producer and director was also the CIA agent “Felix Leiter” in the first “James Bond” film. He died of heart failure in his native Honolulu in 1998 at the age of 77. You can see other “Hawaii Five-0” stars in comparison im Video.
