The Mostra Internacional de Cinema Educatiu (MICE) in Valencia will pay tribute to the Catalan actor Eduard Fernández for his professional career and his commitment to cinema with the Honor Award of the tenth edition of the event.
The actor will participate in the inaugural MICE Gala, which will be held next Friday, September 30, in the Caixaforum de València auditorium, where he will receive the tribute, sources of the organization said, adding that on the morning of the same day, his last film, ‘Mediterráneo’, will be screened in the presence of Tono Folguera, producer of the film, and accompanied by representatives of the NGO ‘Open Arms’.
The award recognizes the work that a professional like Fernández has done for many years, promoting culture and making cinema a tool for changing the world.
The Catalan actor is in the best moment of his career, amassing outstanding performances such as the role of Father Vergara in the ’30 coins’ series, by Álex de la Iglesia; mimicry with Millán-Astray in ‘While the war lasts’, by Alejandro Amenábar; or the dark and violent father of ‘La hija de un ladrón’, directed by Belén Funes.
In previous editions, the award has been received by personalities such as Marisa Paredes, José Luis Cuerda or Hanna Schygulla, among others.
