Last week – shortly before his 60th anniversary – the actor resigned from the theater and decided to retire, but he does not plan to disappear from the stage, the magazine “Privatā Dzīve” reports this week.
The actor explains that it is solely his own decision – many creative personalities, including Juris Žagars, take the opportunity to retire after 30 years in the acting profession.

It is true that, although he will no longer be on the staff of the theater, he is ready to cooperate in the role of a freelancer. It is currently a normal practice that there are changes in the theater environment, actors are seen on different stages.
Đirts ķesteris also completely denies that his departure from the theater could be related to any conflicts. At the same time, the actor will not be seen on stage in the three latest theater performances, as well as in the Christmas concert. This is said to be explained by his busyness in other projects.
He plans to celebrate his 60th anniversary beautifully, which will be on February 14, 2024. In honor of this, he is currently creating the jubilee show “The Man Who Waits”. It is already known that it will be shown in “Devon” in Sigulda. The show will contain many stories from Đirt’s own life, as well as his feelings as he gradually ages.
