Actor Dean Stockwell is dead – VG

BBC gets confirmation from representatives of the American actor that he fell asleep peacefully at home on Sunday.

Best known is Stockwell from his five seasons in the sci-fi series “Quantum Leap”. For this effort, he won the Golde Globe Trophy in 1990. Two years later, he was honored with his own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in Los Angeles.

There, fans have now started laying flowers after it became known that the 85-year-old has now passed away.

Stockwell has won a number of awards. Not least, he was nominated for an Oscar for his role in “Married to the Mob”. He is also known from the 1984 film “Dune” and “The Dunwich Horro”. TV viewers also know him from “Battlestar Galactica”, “I” and “Superman”.

His career spans seven decades. Stockwell started as an actor already as a child. His first role was in “Valley of Decision” in 1945 before he had the honor of playing opposite Frank Sinatra and Gene Jelly in “Anchors Aweigh” Two guests go ashore) later that year.

Stockwell has not played in anything since 2015. No cause of death is stated, but he was hit by a stroke seven years ago.

He was married twice and leaves two grown children.
