Actor David McCallum, known for his roles in American TV series NCIS in The Man From U.N.C.L.E, died at the age of ninety. The actor died of natural causes in a New York hospital on Monday.
McCallum started his career with a number of roles on British television. The Scot then broke through in the US. His roles in series earned him several Emmy nominations. With roles in, among others The Great Escape (1963) in A Night to Remember (1958) he was also successful on the silver screen.
He achieved his last success with the crime series NCIS. McCallum played lead investigator Donald “Ducky” Mallard
In addition to acting, McCallum also had a passion for music. That’s how he made the song The Edgethat Dr. Dre later used as a sample for one of the biggest hip-hop hits of all time: The Next Episode.
