Actor Daniel Radcliffe, who became famous for his role as Harry Potter in the wizarding series, will produce a documentary about his understudy during the filming of Harry Potter.
David Holmes suffered a spinal injury during Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1. He has been disabled ever since.
Radcliffe announced the news on Instagram and said the secret project took 4 years.
The HBO documentary, The Boy Who Lived, will feature interviews with the two as well as footage of David’s stunts.
“Being a stuntman was my calling in life and dubbing Harry was the best job in the world,” David wrote on Instagram.
David was a teenage gymnast from Essex when he was cast as Daniel’s understudy in the first film when the actor was 11.
The incident happened during a stunt rehearsal in January 2009.
“This film tells the story of not only my achievements in front of the camera, but also the challenges I face every day and my overall attitude towards life after having a broken neck,” he said.
“In the turbulent world we live in right now, I’d like to quote Harry: ‘We are as strong as we are united, as weak as we are divided.’
David also thanked the medical staff as well as Harry Potter author JK Rowling and Daniel for their support.
